Living arrangement question

After almost 9 years of marriage, my husband and I are splitting. I am actually moving into a 2 bedroom apartment with my 3 kids. 8 year old son, 3 year old son and my daughter will be 2 in August. I couldnt afford a 3 bedroom. So right now I plan on putting my boys in one room and then sharing with my daughter. At least that is the plan, I may end up sleeping on the couch/pull out bed.

So here is my main question, do I even bother taking her toddler bed to the new place? Every night she goes to her brothers' room and crawls up into their twin beds. I was thinking due to the lack space just bringing the full size bed and sharing it with her. I could bring both and see what happens. This means I have to put my dresser in storage and use her dresser for both of us since it will fit in the closet.

I am just so torn on what to do. I am moving into a place half the size of my current place so I have to get rid of a lot of stuff.

I think that you should still try to get her to sleep in her own bed. Once a child sleeps with their parent(s) its VERY hard to get them to sleep alone. My sister has a 6yr old that she cannot break from sleeping with her because my nephew slept in her bed for so long because they didn't have room for a toddler bed. I know its hard to cram stuff from a house to an apt, but in the long run, she will be better off. Good Luck!

Once a child sleeps with their parent(s) its VERY hard to get them to sleep alone. My sister has a 6yr old that she cannot break from sleeping with her because my nephew slept in her bed for so long because they didn't have room for a toddler bed. I know its hard to cram stuff from a house to an apt, but in the long run, she will be better off. Good Luck!

I decided to give the room to her. And keep her room as her room/the play room. She is use to this as it was the arrangement in the house I shared with their dad.

I am sleeping on the pull out couch in the living room for now. It is comfortable. I spent 3 months of bedrest on it. So far it has been 3 weeks since I moved and it is working so far.

I think that if you can afford it get the boys some bunk-beds if they do not already have them, then put your daughter toddler bed in the boys room. She must feel very safe with her brothers otherwise that she would not keep running to them.

Remember being a mom we still need our own space so try to keep your room for you, and if you have room put 2 dressers in your room for the kids clothes. Since your youngest are 2 and 3 and the oldest is 8 this would be a great arrangement until you can afford a 3 bedroom.
