Too clingy?

Some friends and I were talking this weekend about online dating.

As a male what are your turn offs when you get an email from a lady?

As a female what are your turn offs when it comes to getting an email?

What is your definition of a clingy person? How do you treat or react to the clinginess?

My answers:
A huge turn off is getting an email letting me know how hot I am. I know Im pretty and attractive. It makes me feel as if the person is looking for a hook up. I want to know the person actually read what I wrote. 95% of the time, thier emails let me know they didn't read a word and just looked at my picture.

Clingy to me is texting, calling and emailing me all day long. Also, professing thier love or strong like of me after only the first meeting. Also if they tell me how much they like me just after one conversation via instant message. I usually block them and never talk to them again. I know its harsh but thats how I do it.

If you know you are pretty then how come you do not have a picture profile.

I am a man and an e-mail overloading me with questions would be something I would not like. An e-mail that is one giant paragraph is a no go.

I agree with the clingy to. I dont need to be in contact all day long with someone.

Turn me off ? Not much here, but if I had to settle for one thing it has to be a question followed by a question etc..I prefer to take things slowly and digest information and not jump from one subject to the other.
I can understand the anxiety that some feel with online dating as I have experienced it as well, but the true measuring stick is the FIRST meeting, that is the defining moment and you can always tell if there is a spark or not ?
A clingy person is just that. They have to be in the know at all times, and can never give you an inch of space, which we all need I feel. I have experienced that as well and it can be a turn off in a relationship.
