Hey Bob , I am still single, but do not see many challenges ahead of me. I have been seeing a wonderful lady for some time now and certainly have gotten to know her well as she has me.
So maybe just getting over the hump as to asking her for marriage would be the challenge as I am confident she would jump at the chance. I am not being arrogant with that statement btw. I just know.
It's also that I am simply a very structured individual and have a set way in my life. I am not fond of change and taking chances. That is just my personality I guess ?
So the other part of your question deals with benefits. Being single and working has one drawback. Uncle Sam has his way with you come tax time. ( no benefit there ) I guess doing your own thing when you want to do it is a benefit.
So I guess the bottom line is there are pros and cons to each way of life, and I have experienced both. I was once involved with a woman for an extended period of time, and yes we both said " I love you " to each other. Well she always stated to me " s%*t or get off the pot " She never understood the way I thought I guess ?, but I should have been more forthcoming to her. My fault !
Anyway, life goes on and so do I, thankfully.
