    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

Hello! I've had this strange patch of hair under my ear my entire life! It looks very goofy and I'm just curious if anyone else has anything like this/what exactly is this/what could have caused it?!

note: there is only a patch underneath my right ear, not my left one!

    thank you everybody!

    Dear whenlifegivesyoulemons,
Is the skin under the hair a normal color or darker than normal?
Did the patch change at all when you went through puberty? For example, did the skin get thicker or the hair grow thicker? Thanks for sharing this with us!

I have it too. So do two of my friends. I'm blond tho so it doesn't show up as boldly. Mine is only on my right as well tho both of my friends have it on both sides. I have no idea what it is tho.

Hello Dr. Buchness! Sorry for the late reply. The skin is a normal color and did not change at all when I went through puberty. It's been something with me since birth. The hair is thicker now at 21 years of age from what I remember as a kid
