baking soda as exfoliant and deodorant
An_247141 posted:

I heard that baking soda paste (mixed with water) is an excellent exfoliant and deodorant.
People would apply the baking soda paste on their face and underarms and leave it on skin for a bout 10 minutes and then wash them off in the shower daily

But I also heard that the baking soda will change the pH of the skin and can cause fungal problems. The basic pH of the baking soda can upset the pH of your skin, which is supposed to be acidic and it will gradually wear down your skin's defenses.

Is this true? if it is, is the basking soda paste worst than the soap? Soap also has a high PH and I use it daily.
