It's growing on my neck!

About a year and a half when I was doing a musical play, my friend commented on my neck saying that "Lidia I think you got purple make up on your neck" and that how it all started. I never realized I had that patch of something on my neck. I thought it was dirt and took a shower and let it be. After a few months of ignoring my neck, it started to get itchy. I been having a lot of Dan-drift and patches of it on the back of my head. My mother points out that a black patch is growing on the side of my neck. I went to a skin specialist and they put my on a cream called Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment USP, 0.1% I put it on 3 times a day. They don't know what it is. It iches now and then and when I touch it, it feels really rough compared to my skin. I feel like is just getting bigger and it wont go away. It been a year about to be two with this thing on my neck. I'm 17 and this is really making my feel really self-conscious.

Hi lidia407,

Here is a link to an older discussion on the board about dark spots on the neck. You might find some information that was discussed there useful, and maybe even worth mentioning to your dermatologist.

I hope that you are able to find something that works!
