I have a small patch (dime sized) od impetigo on my face. My MD gave me an Rx for mupirocin which I just started on Thursday. How long before I notice it working? Or it starts to disappear?

Hi cheaptrickfan,

Have you seen any improvement since posting this? This information from our Drugs & Medications Center says that if your condition does not improve in 3-5 days that you should contact your doctor (that is not to say that it will be gone within that time frame but that you should at least see some improvement). It also warns against stopping the medication before the full time prescribed has ended, as it may allow bacteria to continue to grow and you may have a relapse of the infection.

Best wishes,
