Conquering Fears of Anesthesia
Exchange_Blogs_Admin posted:
Many people have a fear of anesthesia and put off surgery. If you're scheduled for a surgical procedure, it's important to address your concerns with your doctors. Read the latest blog post from Dr. Robert Kotler, then come back here to share your comments.

I was so afraid of the pain of a spinal block anesthesia that I ddecided to have natural childbirth three times! When I found that I was going to have to have back surgery, I made three different tapes of music to listen to before, during, and after my surgery. This was in 1995. The doctors were all fine with it and they said that the surgery actually went smoother and faster than they had expected and felt that the music I chose probably contributed to that! Ever since the, I recommend music with surgery to all my friends and family and they have used it and agree.

Thanks for your input AliceCash,

Music is an integral part of my medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology practice. It relaxes my patients and allows me to provide them with the best and most thorough care.
