My tattoo removal
amy3901 posted:
I received my first tattoo when I was 18 years old. Over the past 9 years I have acquired two more tattoos. I have one on the back of my lower back, one on the back of my lower abdomen and one on the back of my neck. I thought that I was getting tattoos in areas that could be hidden easily. Well, I got two out of three right… the one on the back of my neck is the one that caused me to seek out laser tattoo removal. I am a currently a registered nurse and I am about to begin a master's program to become a nurse practitioner. When I am working, I like to wear my hair short or up in a ponytail to keep it out of my face. When I am busy with my patients I cannot worry about my hair falling in my face! I feel self-conscience about the tattoo on the back of my neck. I feel like people will think that I am unprofessional or not trustworthy. I sought out a health professional that could aid me in the removal of the tattoo on the back of my neck. I have had three laser removal treatments so far. I plan on continuing my treatments until it is completely gone.
The process of the tattoo removal is fairly simple. Prior to the treatment, I am given an ice pack to aid in numbing my neck. The length of time of the treatments depends upon the size of the tattoo. My tattoo is about 2 inches and it takes around 10 seconds for the treatment. The cost of the treatment also depends upon the size of the tattoo. The number of treatments necessary has many factors. The factors include but are not limited to, the quality of the ink, the color of the ink, the age of the tattoo, etc. I am happy with my results so far. I am thankful for the ability of professional medical doctors to safely and effectively remove tattoos. I feel like I have a second chance at correcting a mistake that I made. In life, sometimes we make decisions that will be with us forever. Thanks to laser tattoo removal, we have a way to correct those mistakes.
