Scary bump on Labia-NP says probably not STD

Last week I developed a raised red bump resembling a pimple on my inner labia, it is now about the size of a pencil eraser. It is tender to the touch and when cleaning myself after using the restroom. I was concerned what it could be and went to the women's health clinic today. The nurse practictioner said it did not look like herpes or Genital wart. She recommended warm baths. I had a full screening for STDs just in case, although I've only had one partner and we've only had sex once (he has had more). I'm still very worried about this, any advice or suggestions. She said to come back if it hasn't begun to heal in a few days. I thought asking a dermotologist about other possible skin related causes might be good

Perhaps it is molluscum contagiosum

Thank-you for your suggestion. I looked for more information about this and although I'm fairly certain it is not what I have (my bump is tender, and the bumps with molluscum contagiosum are supposed to be painless and I only have a single bump), I will keep it on the list of possibilities.

Anon_177124,
It is common to develop cysts and blocked glands in this area. When they get irritated, they hurt. Sometimes they will resolve by themselves, but sometimes they need to be surgically removed. If the warm baths don't help you in a couple of days, or if you're in severe pain, see a dermatologist, who can give you a cortisone injection to calm it down quickly.

Thank-you for your reply, it makes me feel better. I will be sure to follow up and try a dermatologist rather than the nurse practitioner at the gynocologists if it doesn't go away.
