I had perfect skin on me! About 6 years ago, I developed red quarter sized patches on the outside of both ankles!? My Dr.said it was ring worm & I put a special cream to heal. They have grown to 4 inches across and thick skin?
I thought it was Dioxin as I did handle hundreds of pounds of 50 year old plastic football gear when cleaning out the school gym storage in preparation for building expansion. Dioxin can bleed from old plastic. My Dermatolagist did a scraping for testing and came up with blanks. Any one got this even though you are a 56 year old virgin & live a clean chaist life? thanks, Prime

Mary Ruth Buchness, MD responded:
Dear primemeridians,
It may be a condition called lichen simplex chronicus, which is basically a thickening of the skin that occurs from a rash being present for a long time, like 6 years. Did your derm do a biopsy, or just a scraping? A biopsy would show the diagnosis. A scraping is done more often to see whether fungus is present. If it's what I think it is, it would be treatable with topical cortisone, but really, you need to go back to your derm, or a new one, and get a more satisfactory answer.
Good luck and let us know what happens!

Healing has come. This was not a disease, but a rare form of exema!? Clobetazone Propionate cream removed 90% of condition within 4 weeks. Balence will take a few months more. My doctor from the Westwood Derm. Center B Lined this at the first exam.
I had this for 6 years because My nationally known skin doctor could not figure it out!? So much for popular names over SKILL. My ankles look clean & normal again!

You know My young and new derm. doc figured this out on the frist exam in April.
It was a rare form of exema! Not a disease.
Clobetazone Propionate cream was the cure. Within 4 weeks it was 80% healed. Even my Westwood Derm. Doctor was shocked at how this worked fast. The rest should take until Sept. to clear out. Thank you Westwood Dermatology Center for ending My messy,(sometimes bloody) ordeal. So much for my other Derm.Doctor" with a nationallt recog. name". He was stumped totally. I suffered for 6 years because some Derm.doc only knew about cancer & face lifts & I sufferred for 6 years. A young newly educated doctor is best!
