The top of my hand is itching and there are no rashes or bug bites or dry skin. What could this be?

Hello and Welcome -

Itching is aggravating, unfortunatley it is difficult to diagnosis over the internet with little information, knowing your medical history or seeing the area.

Please see your doctor or a dermatologist to have the area evaluated if creams and lotions have not resolved the itch.

In the meantime, this information about itching may be helpful.

Let us know what you find out,
Elizabeth

I will be seeing an allergist today to look at the rash as well as get tested for allergies that may be driving some sinus issues I've been having. My history is as follows:
44 yr old female, healthy. Spinal fusion for scoliosis in 1981, various surgeries for cyst removals in hands, legs, ovaries.
In April, I sought an ENT due to sinus discomfort and stuffiness. Two CT scans later, have thickening mucosa and a retention cyst in the maxillary sinus. Tried Augmentin for sinuses but it did not help. ENT wanted to do surgery, so I sought a second opinion. Second opinion did not agree, felt that sinus issues were due to allergies. Was given a nasal spray and saline wash to use and told to take sudafed. In the meantime, on May 10, developed cough and wheezing Chest x-ray was clear. No meds given at that time. A week later, ENT told me to see a pulmonologist for bronchitis. Pulmonologist confirmed bronchitis. I am currently taking predinsone for the hives. I'm tapering down the steroid am taking 10mg 1 per day. I am also taking Zantac for the hives.
The itching has gotten better but the rash comes and goes. I keep running a low grade fever of 99. I see an allergist today and will have more information.....
