random itchiness

about 6 months ago i started having this issue where my skin would start to itch intensely. i would scratch it and these little red bumps would appear and my skin would get raised and red because of my scratching, then after scratching like crazy for awhile, it would just go away. it can be anywhere, neck, back, stomach, legs and i cannot think of any soap or lotion changes and i don't take any medication except an occasional fiber chew. my skin has also become really sensitive to any sort of contact. even changing my pants will leave raised red lines on my legs, sometimes with bumps. any ideas what might be causing this and what i can do to fix it?

Funny, I just clicked on WEBMD to seek info on almost the same thing. My palms and lower arms began to itch suddenly a couple weeks ago. No where else, but it is driving me crazy. I have no rash, welts or redness, tho. Just this sudden need to scratch. No med changes, no changes in detergents, cleansers, anything. Just feel lilke I'm having a reaction to something, but can't figure it out. (I always heard that itchy palms meant money coming your way...no such luck!) Here's hoping we can both figure this out.
