MRSA Treatment?

: How do I obtain proper MRSA treatment?

What is proper MRSA treatment?

I have been having debilitating lesions and lesions and all manner of disgusting symptoms for 2 years.

A couple of drs said the pus and draining from the lesions was not infection. (???)

Antibiotics helped some but never completely got rid of the infection before the course ran out. The experts seemed unwilling to prescribe a sufficiently long course of antibiotics.

The last dr diagnosed MRSA and prescribed Bactrim, but only for 10 days. So, you guessed it. The same thing is happening again. The mupiricin doesn't seem to have helped much; some strange-looking substances came out of my nose, but it hasn't cleared up either.

For almost the entire 2 years, I have been trying to get a referral to an infectious disease specialist, but all the drs refuse and/or want me to keep coming back to them many times first.

I don't have forever for this. would like to have my life back. I have scars everywhere. Now there are large new patches on my face.

Suggestions?

Dear An,

I agree, it sounds like you need the expertise on an infectious disease expert.

I am sorry that your physicians have not agreed to give you a referral. At this point, I would call your insurance company and explain the circumstances. They may be able to waive the need for the referral and also give your recommendations for an ID specialist in your area.

I hope that helps

The problem is not the insurance company; I don't have one.

The ID docs won't make an appt without the referral.
