intense itching, red bumps, doctor won't give me a definitive answer

Several weeks ago, my boyfriend and I started experiencing intense itching in patches, spread all over our body (except above the neck). We'd recently been camping, so my first thought was fleas or chiggers, but after several weeks, they persisted. The itching is intense, and usually worse at night. I went to the clinic here in town (I have no insurance), and the first diagnosis was allergic reaction. I am already taking antihistimines for allergies, so we used Benadryl cream. A week later, no relief, I returned, and was told it was definitely scabies. We used the Elimite prescription cream 1X as directed, washed linens, clothes, etc. I've been off work for a week now b/c of this diagnoses, and we still have had NO relief, in fact it's getting worse. NOW the doctor says it MIGHT be psoriasis or eczema, so I'm going back in for a skin scraping later in the week. HELP, please? I'm so frustrated AND I'm at risk for losing my job if I can't return soon.
