Hard lump on neck

My daughter has had a 2cm hard lump on her neck/collarbone area. Her Dr is referring us to an ENT Dr. Has anyone else ever had this and is so what is it and did you have to have it removed?

Dear Freckles,
Most commonly, lesions such as the one you describe are cysts (small collections of dead skin cells).
The ENT doc will remove the lesion and send it for pathology in order to give you a 100% answer.
As a mom myself, I know you must be concerned -- however, these types of lesions are very common.
