Itchy Red Bumps on back

My husband has itchy red bumps that started with 2 on his right side that itched now he has a few more on his side several on his back a couple on the back of his arms some on the front of his thighs and about 2 on the back of his thighs he says now a few sting and hurt
no one else in the house has them what could this be?
