I have a friend who, from birth, has this really weird growth. He has a NAIL (like a fingernail) that grows out of the skin of his pink finger. So not only does he have all 5 regular fingers, he has a sliver of nail that grows out of the underside of his pinky finger....it creeps me out, but apparently his biological father had same thing, though his son does not. What is it? He doesnt even know

It is not uncommon or dangerous to have a supernumerary digit or nail.
As long as your friend is comfortable with it, it should serve no problem

know someone who has the same thing except its in multiple fingers, each with multiple spines per finger. what he has might be something totally different than your friend however it sounds very similar. it looks like fingernail like spines when they're pulled out. We saw a hand specialist and he said to us he hasn't seen anything like this before.
