Rash/Insect Bite

Recently stayed at a hotel and came home the next night. I woke up the next day with a spider/insect bite like swelling on my back. The swelling is 2" x 4" in size and is extremely warm to touch. The skin around the swelling is peeling off and it is extremely painful especially when laying down or bending. I have had this for a week but the pain doesn't seem to go away. I have been putting hydrocortisone (sp?) ointment and bandage on the wound but it seems like it is subsiding down a little bit, but I still have the pain. Do anyone know what this could be?
