A week after my daughter was born she also was diagnosed with Eczema. She had it really bad all over her body and face and scalp. She is now 7 years old and it has cleared up tremendously she now only has it on her ankles and the top of her feet and on wrists. But, saying that she will never grow out of it I don't believe that. Her dermatologist said she will grow out of it by 12 years old and I do believe that because her skin has improved so much. To keep them from itching at night I give her Claritin D and also use a triple ointment the doctor prescribed. I also give her a multi vitamin which also helps on the inside. And after a bath I use the ointment and vasoline heavy and put COTTON clothing on her for her skin to breath. And I find that does work and help the skin. All her bedding is also cotton. It seems like a lot of work but, it is well worth it. It also depends on the weather, the foods she eats and if the child is stressed they can have flare ups. If it is due to very hot weather I have my daughter use an ice pack where the flares ups are and it cools it down and stops it. And watch what she eats. (healthy) and stress well we want our children to be happy. I have been dealing with this for 7 years of her life now and I know a lot I did a lot of research to know what she is dealing with to understand. I have tried everything under the sun. Oh yeah also when my daughter had a flare up from being around dogs I took her to an indoor pool and her flare up went down they say chlorine also helps so I tried it and yes it did help. I hope some of this info helps. And it is a constant thing we fight with on a daily basis but have faith that your child will grow out of this and do a lot of research and find what works best for you and your child is the best home remedy. Good luck I wish you the best.
