Are there ways to test for this? I have been trying to resolve my sleeping issues for several years. I began having insomnia about 4-5 years ago. I also twitch and convulse during the night which often times keeps my husband awake as I 'flop like a fish'. Often times when I would fall asleep on the couch and he would try to wake me up I would yell at him and call him names and cuss and never remember any of it, all of these are things I never do when I'm awake. I've seen nutritionists and they have said my mineral levels are unbalanced and they put me on large amounts of supplements and restricted my diet to lean protein and fresh produce. That helped for a while but eventually I started twitching and convulsing again. I have started seeing a different doctor who has put me on some neuroreplete, cysreplete, etc. and is having different tests taken to figure out what might be wrong. I have been sleeping very sound since being on these supplements and I no longer wake during the night. My twitching has stopped but I'm still wondering if this maybe another instence where it will work for a while and then I'll end up back where I started. This is the first article that I've read that even somehow resembles what I've experienced and thought perhaps there is something more to my sleeping issues than what I've found so far.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering what to do about my husband doing violent things when were sleeping. One night we were sleeping and suddenly he grabed my neck and was about to break it until I cried out, partally in pain, and partally because he scaired the crap out of me. As soon as he was aware of what he did, he started apologizing, and said he was dreaming that he was dreaming that he was playing a vidio game where you have to break a dogs neck.....i know he didnt mean to but what should I do?????

Hi Jazmin,

Your first priority is to ensure your own safety, even if that means sleeping in a different room until this is addressed.

And your husband should see his doctor to discuss this and look for solutions.

Please take steps to keep yourself safe and to help your husband get some help.
