Dreaming, but can see everything going on around you

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. If I take naps in the afternoon, when i wakeing up I can open my eyes but I cant move. Its like im dreaming. I can see everything around me, hear all the noises, but I cant move at all, like im paralized. It scares me really bad, my heart is racing like crazy but my breathing is normal sleep breathing. I have to fall back asleep again and wake up for it to go away, or if there is a loud noise or someone touches me I can wake up from it..any input or advise would really help me. Thanks so much!!

According to WebMD, "Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep. During these transitions, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes".

There is another similar discussion happening on this thread where a members are talking about their experience with sleep paralysis . You might check it out to see if the replies there are helpful to you, as well.

It's happened to me a bunch of times but its Helpful because you can see what people Are doing to you , like today it happened to me I was sleeping in the couch when I hear this click Or flash sound and because I can see what was Happening I saw my dad take of picture of me And he was laughing because he thought it was Funny but I tried to wake up and when I did I was So PISSED that u told him that I he ever ever did That again in would throw his phone outside of The balcony because we live in a apartment upstairs And this was the second time he had done it and my mom didn't say Anything about it and I'm still pissed so that's why I'm writing this!!!!-83D-E21
