I'm awake, but my mind is still dreaming
KelcieV posted:
Sometimes I'll wake up in the morning, but I'll still be dreaming in my head. Usually my dream is work related, where I'm trying to concentrate on my next task and I'll usually be in some sort of room I don't recognize as the place that I think I'm at. While this is going on, my eyes are wide open, just staring into the corner of the window next to my bed.

More recently, I had woken up and started going through some webpages, however, my head was still "swirling" with thoughts that I can't remember. All I can tell off of it is this swirling felt like the exact same feeling I got on the work related dreams. By the time that I felt like I was actually conscious enough to notice I was in fact awake, the swirling dies down and all I'm left with is the vague memory that it happened. This sudden consciousness happens every time.
Can anyone tell me what this is?

This occasionally happens to me only my eyes are closed (I think) - but I still know I'm awake. I have very weird dreams that happen in the surroundings that I am in, and sometimes I have to talk myself out of a panic attack when things go wrong in the dream and become a nightmare. I also suffer from sleep paralysis, is that something you have ever experienced during these dreams?

I get dreams or visions when awake. I see pictures like red sofas, all sorts of things.Sometimes I feel as though I am clutching something when I am not.
I have just written a poem avbout it!

the same thing happens to me. my dreams are so real that i cannot differentiate them from reality. my psychiatrist has recommended that i see a sleep specialist for a possible diagnosis of narcolepsy. apparently narcolepsy can be associated with hallucinations about falling asleep and waking? this has been going on over a year.. within the past month it has gotten so bad that i am scared to death to go to bed because the dreams are so stressful
