    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Possible sleep apnea - I'm scared!
    Claire98909 posted:
So last night I woke up gasping for breath. This has happened to me twice before - the first time was about five years ago and the second was about three years ago. The previous two times it happened it didn't bother me but last night I was terrified to fall back asleep because I was afraid it would happen again and that I wouldn't wake up and that I'd die in my sleep.

If it happens again, is it possible that I wouldn't wake up and would wind up dying?
    An_248704 responded:
I do not know much on sleep apnea, but I would visit a sleep specialist ASAP.
