Child with Insomnia

My 11yr old son suffers from insomnia. Have given Benadryl when he has gone for a few days with just a few hours sleep. Looking for suggestions....

Hi rlhouse73,

Here are some tips that you might follow to help your son avoid more sleepless nights. Identifying any stressors that might be causing him to have nighttime anxiety (homework overload, a big test coming up, problems with friends at school, etc), establishing the same bedtime routine every night, and avoiding any kind of stimulant at least one hour before bed (includes tv, ipad, and any other electronic device) are also good ways to help him overcome his insomnia. I hope that some of these suggestions help!
