Sleepy during the day
kevand62 posted:
My insurance has paid for a sleep apnea mouth guard (appliance). The mouth guard is fitted to the mouth and after wearing it for a couple of weeks (at night only the Dentist adjusts the mouth guard so the jaw moves forward 1 millimeter. This is done 2 times. You're sent home with a "glove" like machine for a sleep study to find out if you're still snoring. I have mild sleep apnea but I was not sleeping all night.
I was going to get a C-Pap attached to the mouth piece but I decided against it. I'm now able to sleep but I was still sleepy during the day. The Sleep Medicine Network office that I go to prescribed Nuvigil 150 mg. I feel so much better. I really recommend SMN as well as Nuvigil. I'm a different person now. Nuvigil wakes me up during the day. I just wish I could have been taking it all my life.
The Sleep Medicine Network is in Portland Oregon. I'm sure there must be offices in other places.
