    Cant wake up....
    poohberry34 posted:
Hi, I have read through everyones, messages and I have same problems, When I do finally go to sleep no one can wake me, this has been going on for about 2 yrs now, I mean my daughter screams at me, the dogs wake on me, and no noise wakes me. Its very scary. I went from dr to dr asking why, whats wrong with me. Told them how scary it was, and I was afraid if my home caught on fire I would not make it out if I was asleep. Leaving my daughter to have to leave me behind. Well just recently I was put in hospital for some issues with my lungs, and I had to have a broch done,,where they go down your throat and get what they need from your lungs. I have had ths done before, and yes I have had sleep apnea testing done as well, to come back negative., anyways, this time when they did the bronch they had to put me to sleep, not just a twilight sleep I was totally out, when I was done the dr came in and told me that whenI am sleeping , everything shuts down vbasically, my oxygen drops, and that causes other things to not work properly. As I said I have had the basic sleep apnea test done, and it showed nothing, but with what the dr just saw, I have severe sleep apnea, and will be fitted for a c-pap real soon. You should ask your dr to first have your oxygen tested while you sleep, they will send you home with the oxygen finger sensor to use while you sleep at night to see what happens. I was shocked when within 2 days of that testing I had a knock at my door saying I had to sleep with oxygen every night from tthat point on. Then after that was when I was hospitalized. And found out the rest. So again ask your dr. Its not normal, no to be able to awoke from your sleep. There is something wrong, keep being persistent about it. Its your health, its your body and no one knows it better than you. God bless and good luck

    Hi Poohberry,

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sure this will be enormously helpful to others who look in here and who are struggling with some of the same issues.

I'm glad they finally found out what was wrong and you're being treated now.
