I have had fibro for 20 yrs and have tried to sleep every where and every way possible. I have found that I go thru a 2 month sleeping cycle. Sometimes I can sleep 8 hrs, then for a few weeks I sleep 4-5 hrs, up 6-8 and sleep some more. Then I go through a spell where I can't sleep at all at night. It's totally crazy and I can't really schedule anything in the morning.
What I have found that has helped me more than anything are these things:
1. Get a good hepa air filter (honeywell round filters) for your room (fresh air and white noise, yeah!!)
2. Get an excellent mattress (that fits your body..I have a super soft, yet supporitve mattress. It's a "Lady Englander")
3. Get all cotton bed linens and a good washable pillow. (I don't recommend the sleep number bed, but they're store has the best washable pillow on the planet! $50 )
4. Don't have any electronic entertainment devices in your bedroom and park your electric clock across the room.
5. Do not put your bed on the same wall where you're meter box is. (electromagnetic frequencies can stimulate your body.)
6. Change your detergent, cleaning products and grooming products to UNSCENTED products. I'm allergic to scents but some scents can be very stimulating so get rid of all that febreeze and air fresheners too.
Do 1 step at a time if you need, but they are all important.
I still don't sleep like I should but I could hardly sleep at all before I learned these things.
Someone helped me by teaching me these things. I hope they help you.
