take meds at the same time each day and don't eat after 7 pm

Hello. My prayers are with you. I have had RA for over 24 years, and dealing with pain and sleeplessness is sometimes a big challenge. I have found it makes a big difference if I take my meds at the same time each day, and with the same amount of food. I also avoid eating anything after 7 pm. I still wake up multiple times per night with pain or sometimes just due to restless legs, but the frequency is reduced if I stay on a routine. Also, consider soaking in a warm bath....I do that in the morning to lessen the stiffness.

I hope you have a good rheumatologist...that's crucial. Be patient with any medication changes, as they take time to work. Also, keep moving as much as you can. Any kind of exercise really helps.

You may want to take just 10-15 minutes before you go to sleep to do something you really enjoy (ie reading a little, looking at favorite photos/memories, or journaling.). I understand that some of this advice can seem pretty hollow and superficial and that it may seem that others do not understand your pain and sleeplessness, and you're right. Sometimes it helps a little just to have someone to interact with, and that's why I decided to post.

God Bless you, and I pray for a bright tomorrow for you!
