Spiritual attack? Maybe. Lucid dreaming? Sure. Are you enjoying the experience? If not, go to a doctor and ask for a sleep study. Sounds like your body isn't regulating sleep cycles properly. Some people who are artists enjoy the weirdness, but it gets old; plus you may start losing muscle control during your waking hours, which could be dangerous if you're driving, say, or carrying a baby.

It can be controlled with medication and some adaptation in your habits. Don't just decide to "live with it"!

Thank you for that great advice. You definitely should see a sleep expert and get checked out if you think you may have a sleep disorder. Here is some information on Narcolepsy Symptoms for anyone who is interested.
