Quit smoking
Saila123 posted:
I have been smoke free for 11 days, after smoking for 30 years.. i just thought that by now i might be feeling better, feeling good... but i am not.. i just feel down, and under the weather, unhealthy, unhappy and uncomfortable... i don't know what to do with myself.. help?

I'm new to the forum so I'm a little late on the response.

Are you still smoke free? My quit date is tomorrow. I've quit before and have gone through feeling down as well. I've also managed to make it through stressful situations easier b/c the nicotene wasn't making me edgy.

I'm nervous about quitting b/c I want to stay quit. Aside from the obvious health risk, it's too expensive and I've made myself a pariah. But I'm focusing on how much better I'll feel. My sinuses will love me for not abusing them like I do.

Good luck in your endeavors. If this note finds you've gone back to it, consider it a temporary lapse.

How do you control these unwanted emotions? The unhealthy feelings, I mean. My first thought would be that the sick feelings would make you want a cigarette even more. As if having withdrawals is what's pulling you towards smoking. Good luck to both of you in your fight to quit smoking. Anyone is more than strong enough to quit smoking.
