My first day cigarette free
Kristen7972 posted:
I am a 40 year old single mother with juvenile diabetes. I have been smoking since I was 15. I quit yesterday at 3:50pm. I am using electronic cigarettes and nicotine gum to help with the withdrawal and cravings. I smoked about 15 cigarettes a day. It is so hard. I am taking it one hour at a time. I need to quit for obvious health reasons. I also want to be a better role model for my daughter. It really is a struggle, though. I miss that feeling of release that smoking a cigarette brings. Wish me luck!

Let me know how it goes................and great luck!! I have the gum and should probably try the electronic cigarette like you are. Seems that everyone has different ways that can help them so whatever works is the best choice.

Good to hear from you! I have had a few slip ups- but I haven't started smoking again or bought any cigarettes. It's been five weeks and it is still extremely difficult to be around anyone who smokes- as some of my friends do. I am no longer using ecigs- just the gum. Dollar General has a Rexall generic brand that is just as good as Nicorette for $7 for a box of 20. It does get easier- a bit. I just take it one day at a time and keep cigarettes out of my house! Great luck to you, too. How nice to hear from somebody! Thank you!
