I quit smoking 4 weeks ago cold turkey. After about a week I purchased an e-cigarette flavored like tobacco, but with no nicotine. This has been a really successful approach for me. If I slip up a few times a week (& puff on the e-cig.) I can still say I am tobacco & nicotine free! I think the pressure of feeling like I could not slip caused me to give up too easily on previous attempts. Ultimately, you just have to say to yourself, 'I want to quit now' and mean it.
