Stress fracture?

So I've been increasing my mileage by a mile or so per week which I was told was a safe rate to go at, anyway I have a pain on one of my metatarsal bones but I'm not sure if its a stress fracture. I can put weight on it, it doesnt hurt when i run, but it hurts when i poke that bone with my finger. Any thoughts on what this could be? I havent stopped running because it doesn't hurt at all in any activity other than when i poke it.

Remember to replace your running shoes every 300-400- miles or every 6 months. Many running related injuries are due to worn out footwear. More
