possibly torn patella ligament in knee?
avatar
colaburns posted:
I'm a 31 year old mother, not as active as I used to be. Thanksgiving day while playing football with the family I injured the knee. Nothing horrible but under the knee cap is swollen as well as the inside of the knee (my left knee) and there is a large hardish lump under the kneecap itself. You can see and feel the difference in the swelling. If I have my legs out in front of me, and I flex my quad muscle to have my knee caps move up, only the right knee does this. It's like the Quad muscle won't even work I can't flex and move that knee cap on the left side. It's been 4 weeks now and the swelling only goes down with rest and ice but as soon as I'm up it flares up again. Doc appointment is set for Tuesday but in the mean time should I treat this as a torn ligament perhaps and wear a brace and ice it or just leave it be and don't baby it? Husband says he can feel two "knots" about a quarter inch of space on the bottom inside corner of my knee. I can walk, but it feels like my leg is super heavy and I guess I have a slight limp. Thanks. Cola
