Torn Sartorius muscle
activeover45 posted:
I am an active >45 year old athlete and last week was playing competitive soccer and on a full sprint, felt my sartorius muscle pop. It was not painful and I could easily limp off the field. I iced the site that night and walked gingerly the next day. Over the next 48 hours, the site bruised significantly and with slight swelling began to have minor numbness in the whole leg. I've tried to research this type of injury and my PA had no direct experience with torn sartorius. I am not in any direct pain and I have no strength issues doing normal activities. Is there anyone out there that may have experienced this injury running or playing soccer who could offer some advice on rest and any material concerns I should look for? i am planning at the advice of my PA to ice and take up stretching and jogging in about 3 weeks.
