Pain on top of foot at joint of 5th metatarsal

Approximately 3 weeks ago while out walking I developed a blister on the ball of my foot near big toe joint where bunions usually appear. In order to avoid pain I transferred my weight to the opposite side of my foot (near little toe) and was able to continue walking. 24 hours after this I began getting pain only on the top of my foot at the 5th metatarsal joint. This pain has persisted and does not throb or hurt until I either flex my foot downward or press on the area. The pain when I flex my foot is like a burning pain. There has been no bruising nor swelling at the site. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? When I press on the bottom of my foot there is absolutely no pain. The pain has not increased over the past 3 weeks but it has not decreased either. Thanks for any information!!
