Rapid movement of eyes to side results in 'swooshing' sound in my head

When I move my eyes rapidly to the side (not necessarily both sides, but if not both sides then generally to the left) I hear a swooshing sound as if a mass of water were pushed past - but it only lasts less than a second and just at the end of the rapid movement - almost if in a wind tunnel and the window was opened for a brief half second.

Sometimes this will last days, other times just for a few hours. I have my eyes checked annually and nothing ever shows up as being abnormal.
