My husband had a stroke 5/31/2013. He is doing pretty well except he has difficulty sleeping. Is this a side effect?

Yes, it could be. Has he seen a doctor about it? Also a majority of stroke survivors have sleep apnea. Ask for a sleep study for your husband which could help prevent him from having another stroke. I got a completely normal sleep study in the year before my stroke. After my stroke, I had not only obstructive apnea but central apnea where the brain doesn't tell the muscles to breath.
