    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? I HAVE to stop Loratab! Help please...
    kait1975 posted:
Hello, I had 2 major surgeries within the last 6 months and have been taking Loratab 5s for the last 5 months. I average about 5 a day of those. I am ready to stop taking them, but plan to taper not stop CT. I am a teacher and cannot take off to do this. Any words of advise? Will I still experience withdrawal if I taper? Do you have any idea how long it will last if so??

There is no time like the present.

Seeking the advice and help of your physician regarding this matter is the best way to go. Self-management and self-directing your care regarding matters like this usually don't work well, believe me. What you want to achieve is certainly reasonable, but you can't do it yourself.

    I wish you well.

Quitting opiate substances can be difficult but its definitely a doable thing. I am an addiction specialist and work for a rapid detox program in California. I have seen many successes and can tell you that people have succeeded in maintaining an opiate free lifestyle. I wish you well in your venture.
