    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

I was wondering if anyone could help me out ? My husband has an Addiction that he is getting help with (Methadone) and also taking Strattera. What i have been researching or trying to find out is if there is anything life threatening taking the 2 together or not ? To me it seems to make him very drowsy (Strattera) and almost makes him look "high" again ? and i know he doesnt want that. I also dont want to accuse him of this either ? Anyone out there in the same boat as me that could give me a little support to help him ?

    Anthony Tornay, MD responded:
Methadone is substitution treatment for opiate addiction. Strattera is a non-stimulant treatment for attention deficit disorder (ADHD.)

There should not be any 'life-threatening' interaction between the two medicines. However, both drugs have their beneficial effects on the brain, and side effects do occur.
