nearly 2 years ago I was diagnosed with colon cancer and went through radiation treatments daily and chemo once a week. The doctors said this treatment would shrink the cancer and the surgery wouldn't be easier on my body. During the time of the treatments the tumor/polyp burst and my neighbors found me passed out on the floor in my house. I don't know how long I was there, maybe a day or 2 but I am lucky to be alive. But I was told by my surgeon that in his 27 years of practice he had never had this outcome on any of his patients. Oh, lucky me. I ended up having 3 surgeries to totally remove all of the cancer and it left me with a colostomy bag that will be with me for life due to the location of the cancer and the amount intestine/bowel they had to remove. I just wonder when I am ever going to feel that "the bag" is no big deal.
