Death from a pulmonary embolism

My husband's leg starting swelling, was red and tender and warm to touch. He went to see physician who ordered a sonogam. Said sonogram did not show anything, and prescribed him something for arthritis. He forgot to call in prescription, so I had to call the next day to remind him of my husband's visit. Two weeks later my husband died from a pulmonary embolism. I want to know if I can obtain that sonogram and have it read by a different facility?

Dear nelson179, My sincerest condolences for your loss. I am probably repeated what others may have said to you but just in case... Gaining Medical files that were ordered under your husbands name might prove tedious especially from an ignorant hospital employee of your rights under your particular state. My advise like the answer to your question will be free. How? Look up in your phone directory under attorneys and you will see that a simple phone call question can be answered for free and many times your initial visit is free. Your attorney will probably refer you to one that specializes in the Medical Field and Medical Statutes. In my opinion, who am I to say that!, your physician that diagnosed initially the Arthritis Medicine should have revealed his reasoning with the both of you. The fact that he was a busy man or simply incapable of seeking other medical advise if he did not know any better is clearly an overt act of an ignorant prognosis and as your attorney will explain, evidence is required to affirm his medical malice and simply follow his advise. I hope this helps you. I had the same symptoms and my doctor did not caution or advise me to follow up with a Doctor that specializes
in Pulmonology because of the edema in my ankles and loss of breath. A Nurse Practitioner was the one who saw my symptoms and referred me to a Pulmonologist. I have just undergone a PTE Surgery in San Diego and thank the Lord that I am doing well and for this reason here sending you this message. Keep me informed.
