    Radioactive Iodine?

I was recently diagnosed with Graves on top of a 3-year hypothyroidism-Hashimotos diagnosis. My new endrocrinologist has decided to do radioactive treatment.

My levels go up and down to hypo and hyper. When I am hypo I have gained as much as sixty pounds within a three month period. My question, has anyone had the procedure done and noticed rapid or even healthy natural weight loss?

My Endo said "you can expect a little weight gain after RAI."

Apparently to an endocrinologist, a "little" weight = 40 pounds, cause that is what I went up to without changing my diet. (I eat healthy and in moderation)

I had the RAI in 2008 and the weight gain has been resistant to efforts to decrease it.

Its worse if you are female/older.

Please do not go into the procedure thinking its a change for easy weight loss. It is not.
