We have been trying off and on since September 2008. The 'off' times are due to DH's deployments and a m/c in June 2009.
2. What known issues have you encountered along the way?
I do not regularly ovulate on my own, and have very long, irregular cycles. I have had luck with Clomid as far as ovulating, but that alone doesn't seem to be doing the trick.
3. What testing/appointments have you had/do you have scheduled?
I have had the 'initial' bloodwork done a couple of different times (different doctors), as well as an HSG and an S/A for DH. We have our first RE appointment coming up on March 10th.
4. Any treatments in your future/currently?
I took Clomid this cycle and ovulated, so we'll see! If not, we have the RE appt next week and we'll make a plan from there.
5. What are you doing differently this cycle?
I took chinese herbs given to me by my acupuncturist. I'm not sure how effective they may have been, though. I forgot to take them sometimes!
6. What cycle day (CD) are you on?
I am on CD 22, and am 5DPO. I have no plans of testing unless AF doesn't arrive on time. Last time I had a 14 day LP, so I'm going to hold out until then.
7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC?
I'm feeling pretty neutral, really. I've been trying to focus my thoughts and energy into other things, like working out. It seems to be going well; I've made it to the gym a few times and I'm not obsessing about wanting to test!
2. What known issues have you encountered along the way? PCOS and 3 M/C
3. What testing/appointments have you had/do you have scheduled? I have only been through the PCOS diagnosis and the clomid prescription appointment.
4. Any treatments in your future/currently? Currently CD10 second round of Clomid 100 mg
5. What are you doing differently this cycle? Exercising and uping my clomid
6. What cycle day (CD) are you on? CD 10, and have wet CM today so starting OPK's today.
7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC? Very discouraged, seeing others in the fmaily get pregnant makes me upset. I'm very hopeful this month I got AF (on my own) and than took 100mg of clomid, I actually had CM changes this month :-), and I have lost 15lbs. COme on baby #2!
Since Oct 2008, started charting Jan 2009. Took a 3 month break due a m/c in June 2009.
2. What known issues have you encountered along the way?
No known issues, DH and I have been diagnosed "Unexplained infertility".
3. What testing/appointments have you had/do you have scheduled?
I have had the bloodwork done, and an HSG and a S/A for DH. First RE appt was in Dec2010, waited a year to get an appt.
4. Any treatments in your future/currently?
I took 100mg Clomid this cycle and did an IUI.
5. What are you doing differently this cycle?
Clomid! Takiing a break of exercising during the 2ww, although I have been trying to loose weight - I've lost 10lbs since January :D
6. What cycle day (CD) are you on?
I am on CD 27, and am 9/10DPO. FF has changed my date around on me a couple of times, it thinks I am 9DPO I think 10.. I have a beta blood draw scheduled for Mon 6thMarch, but i think I will test thursday/friday am.
7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC?
Not too bad, I've had some really positive symptoms this month, and am trying hard not to obsess. But I have had sensitive nipples from 3DPO and they do not seem to be going away, so I am hoping thats a good sign. I've only had this once before, so crossing fingers. It is making the 2WW a nightmare though!!!
2. What known issues have you encountered along the way? no ovulation. PCOS
3. What testing/appointments have you had/do you have scheduled? HSG, monitored clomid cycles, battery of hormone tests. all my hormones say I ovluate, U/S says otherwize.
4. Any treatments in your future/currently? being treated for PCOS by a regular Endocrenologist with no fertility aspect. I may even be put on BCP so I can take a med for the facial hair that causes birth defects.
5. What are you doing differently this cycle? n/a
6. What cycle day (CD) are you on? 19ish? I only sorta track now.
7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC? Fed up and done with it. in 28 days we are starting classes to adopt from the foster system.
Generally the average time is between 6 - 12 months for a healthy couple. If you are under 35 they do not recommend you see a specialist unless you have been trying for over a year, over 35 they recommend one after 6 months.
Are you charting your cycles? That seems to help a lot of ladies on here. Fertility Friend is a free and excellent resource that can help you get started on that, I would also recommend reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility".
As you have been trying for a year, I would recommend speaking to your doctor and getting some standard testing done. If your DH will go get a SA I would recommend getting that done asap - DH issues are a lot less invasive than our testing and it's quite a simple thing to rule out.
Please let us know how you get on, and feel free to post in our other topics.
Hi, I'm new around here. Finally taking the step into blogging and getting encouragement in my journey. TTC since 07/2008.
2. What known issues have you encountered along the way?
M/C 07/2008, 11/2008, 06/2009...haven't been pregnant since then and now my OB/GYN is looking into other issues with my cycle. I've been having long irregular cycles...
3. What testing/appointments have you had/do you have scheduled?
The gauntlet. Genetic testing, HSG 12/2009, thyroid panels galore, all the "initial" bloodwork and such at Shady Grove Fertility. We were initially diagnosed as having recurring miscarriages with unknown causes (my HcG levels don't rise as they should), but now that we haven't been able to get pregnant for a year since the testing we are looking to my ovulation and such...had an appt. with my OB 01/2011 and are trying three rounds of just a low dosage of Clomid.
4. Any treatments in your future/currently?
Just had my 2nd cycle of Clomid the end of February... low dosage
5. What are you doing differently this cycle?
Clomid, attempting to track BBT and ovulation... attempting to conceive more often.
6. What cycle day (CD) are you on?
CD24
7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC?
It's been a rollercoaster ride...
1. My husband and I have been trying since Dec.2010. we have two children.

6. Dont know what cycle day is, but spoting, period expected next few days.
7. Well, after period, more hopeful.
2. What known issues have you encountered along the way? Endometriosis, PCOS, only one ovary and fallopian tube. Not ovulating.
3. What testing/appointments have you had/do you have scheduled? "inital bloodwork" with-in the last month, my husband had a SA
4. Any treatments in your future/currently?
on Clomid right now, my OBGYN said to try for 3 cycles and if nothing happens we are moving on to artifical insemination
5. What are you doing differently this cycle? Trying to stay postive. Thouroughly tracking my days and any weird "symptoms" daily in a TTC journal. Taking Clomid 1st cycle

6. What cycle day (CD) are you on?
I don't know because my cycle hasn't started again after continuous birth control for 2 months. It's been 3 weeks since I stopped BC.
7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC?
I'm excited that my polyps weren't cancerous and that my D&C is over with.
I'm excited to start the medication and have the IUI.
I'm worried that nothing will work and I'm already 35.
I have shorter cycles, so I'm on month12 of trying, but we started TTC in June 2010 when I had my Mirena removed.
2. What known issues have you encountered along the way?
Nothing. We have 1 DS who just turned 2. It took quite a while to concieve him as well.
3. What testing/appointments have you had/do you have scheduled?
Again, none as of yet. I see the doctor again in June for a yearly. If nothing has happened by then, I'm sure she and I will be having a discussion.
4. Any treatments in your future/currently?
No
5. What are you doing differently this cycle?
I starting charting my temps using FF. I have also purchased some OPKs, so hopefully I can pin point when I O. We both have also started to work out every other day. I actually don't need to lose weight, but DH is quite over weight, so maybe losing a few pounds might help. If nothing else, he'll feel and sleep better.
6. What cycle day (CD) are you on?
CD3
7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC?
It has been a rollercoaster. Most months I feel very frustrated and let down. This past month was rough, DS is going to have open heart surgery this summer to repair a few birth defects. This has always sat over our heads and we knew it was going to happen. However, this past appointment, we sat with his doctor and decided we would do it this summer. That was HARD. So, this past cycle was really wacky. I O'd late, I had a cold, DS caught my cold and eventually DH was sick. So, needless to say, I was glad when AF finally showed up, so we can start from scratch this month. I'm feeling, let's see, cautiously optimistic? I feel like I am a little more empowered because I'm charting and using the OPKs. Hopefully this month will be it!
Since 2006

All but given up. Adopted a son last year in March...he just turned a year old. Not actually "trying" but not preventing either. We don't expect too much

5. What are you doing differently this cycle?
Added acupuncture
6. What cycle day (CD) are you on?

7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC?
I usually feel okay about it until AF shows up. The hardest thing for me is my age. I'm only 24, I feel like things should just be working!
We have been without BC since our wedding 9/09, but because of work schedules, I wouldn't say that it's been a full year of really trying...charting for the past couple months
2. What known issues have you encountered along the way?
Haven't been tested yet, I have regular cycles, testing to see if I ovulate regularly
3. What testing/appointments have you had/do you have scheduled?
Scheduling my regular Gyno appt this month, probably will ask for fertility testing in six months
4. Any treatments in your future/currently?
No
5. What are you doing differently this cycle?
Starting charting my BBT, CM, and using OPK, just started second cycle doing this
6. What cycle day (CD) are you on?
Cycle Day 1....whoopee.... :)
7. Overall, how are you feeling about TTC?
It's hard because, except for the boards, I feel like I have no one to talk to that would understand. I'm 33, and I am quickly approaching that danger age. When I think that it won't happen for us, I almost start to hyperventilate, we want a family so bad!!! I guess I'm just scared, angry, and confused why we have to be going through this.
