OB Not Taking it Seriously

Are most OBs not serious about a couple's infertility situation until testing is completed and they prescribe Clomid (or another fertility drug)? It just seems that my wife's OB is not taking it seriously. When my wife and I last met her OB, the OB left the impression that she didn't think it was a big deal. We've been trying since January 2011 and my wife has been off birth control since July 2010.

A doctor you trust is critical to this journey. If you aren't comfortable with this doctor it might be time to look for a different one. The standard response is that if you have been trying more than a year it's time to look for possible problems. My doctor didn't even make me wait a full year because it was obvious something wasn't right when I went for my annual after 9 months of trying. Good luck!
