TTC, but cant have normal period
sgeick1991 posted:

i just need some tips, or insight, or advice, on what i should do. i have been off of birth control for over a year, i was on depo, i tried 2 other birth controls before that, and had to stop every one of them because of migraines. For the past year i have not been able to have a normal period. i am on my period about every other week, and am just afraid something is seriously wrong with me. the menstruation is very heavy. my fiance and i are TTC, but cant because we dont know when im ovulating.

any insight is welcomed, thank you!

Hello Sgeick1991 and thanks for posting.

I'm sorry to hear you've been having abnormal periods for a year. Since you're having very heavy bleeding and you're concerned that "something is seriously wrong" with you, I would strongly encourage you to see your doctor and get some expert advice.

Please let us know what you find out once you've seen your doctor,

I know how you feel. I was on depo for 21 months. My last shot was October 2010. From what I have been told, it usually takes a year to be able to conceive after going off depo but sometimes even longer... My husband and I have been trying since August. I just had my first normal period last month in November. For quite a few months, I was having a period about every other week. So you are not alone. Don't really have any helpful advice... I'm just waiting it out
