inconsistent ovulation calculator and ovulation test

troma posted:
My husband and I have been ttc for about 7+ months. Last month I tried an ovulation test which indicated that I had an LH surge on April 1 (meaning I should have been ovulating within 12-36 hours after). However, using an ovulation calculator/calendar it says I shouldn't be ovulating until April 15 or so. I have about 37-38 day cycles.

We were unsuccessful, again, this month. All this inconsistent info (ovulation calendars and ovulation tests) are frustrating.

Any advice???
