CD1 help

AF wasnt due until today but on Sat. night I wore a pad just in case. Anyway when I got home around 11pm I had a dime size amount of blood but when I went to the bathroom it was more of a dark red blood and more than a spot. Sunday I started my normal flow but now I need help in trying to figure out CD1. I have read where you count anything as CD1 asw long as it isnt brown discharge. My gyno nurse said a few yrs back to count cd1 as long as you see red. So anyway do I count CD1 as the dark red I saw on Sat night or my reg flow yesterday? Thanks

I just read that your first cycle day should be counted as the first day you actually have a flow...not spotting. I hope this helps
