I am 34 y/o and I was diagnosed with PCOS in December of 2001. I have not been trying to conceive until January of this year. I ovulate on my own and am not currently on any medications. My RE was trying to prescribe me Metformin, but I informed her that I tried that in the past and that it actually made me sick. She also wanted me to take Actos along with the Metformin. In the profession that I am in I work alongside doctors and I was informed by one of my doctor colleagues not to take those medications (esp. since my blood levels were pretty much normal). I have lost the weight (I was a size 18-20 and now I am a 10-12) and have changed my eating habits. I also have been tracking my ovulation every month with an ovulation predictor kit and I am getting the LH surges as I am suppose to. I also have an app on my phone that helps me keep track of this information. Is the only treatment for PCOS Metformin? Other than Clomid and Metformin, what are some of the other treatments that you all have received that has worked? Does anyone know of any Great REs in the Atlanta Area other than Georgia Reproductive Specialists?
